Dr. Schumacher will take a serious look at the 'human in the loop', to explore what usability and user experience are, and why they are important in digital health. Drawing on experience and real life examples, he will show:

10:25 – 10:45 Customer Experience Beyond User Interfaces

Janne M. Lohvansuu will discuss about the customer experience beyond user interfaces. Companies are focusing their efforts into a narrow field of user interfaces instead of holistic customer experience and retention. Through cases and examples he will show how to grasp the upcoming opportunities within social selling and customer lifecycle.

Dr. Robert Schumacher PhD, Executive Vice President of User Experience at GfK focuses on the problem of software applications and devices in Health, and why are they often so difficult to use. Dr. Schumacher is actively involved in designing and evaluating usability criteria for electronic health records (EHR) through the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), HIMSS Usability Taskforce, professional societies, and other commercial and non-profit organizations. He is also co-author of Technical Evaluation, Testing and Validation of the Usability of Electronic Health Records [NIST 7804].

Proven track record as a digital business strategist with result-oriented drive. Before his current position as a managing director and partner of User Intelligence in Finland, Janne held management positions in Accenture’s Digital Strategy practice, as well as other international IT consultancies. He holds an M.B.A. from Henley Business School from the University of Reading.  In addition to over 18 years of delivering successful digital services, Janne has become an active figure in preaching and lecturing about digital transformation and user experiences in industry seminars from Helsinki to Chicago.
